Brother
CrimeDramaThriller114 min
After a gang war forces him out of Japan, a yakuza enforcer arrives in Los Angeles and falls in with his younger brother’s gang, turning an uneasy reunion into a new criminal alliance. Takeshi Kitano is the exile at the center, carrying his old loyalties and habits of violence into an unfamiliar city; Omar Epps is part of the L.A. circle around him. Kitano also directs, building the film around family ties, underworld codes, and the clash between Japanese yakuza ritual and the street-level drug trade in Los Angeles.
