True Believer

CrimeDramaMystery108 min

Burned-out attorney Eddie Dodd now makes his living defending drug dealers, far from the civil rights cases that once made his name. James Woods is Eddie, with Robert Downey Jr.'s fresh-out-of-law-school Roger Baron arriving to clerk for the lawyer he idolized. When Roger pushes him to look into the conviction of a young Korean man (Yuji Okumoto), jailed for eight years for a murder his mother says he didn't commit, Eddie is pulled back toward the kind of case he thought he'd left behind—one that puts courtroom strategy, police procedure, and his own cynicism under pressure.
