Annie Get Your Gun

ComedyMusicalRomanceWestern107 min

Sharpshooter Annie Oakley joins Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and sparks a romance-and-rivalry with fellow marksman Frank Butler as the troupe travels the American West. Betty Hutton is Annie, bringing a fast, comic energy to the famed sharpshooter, while Howard Keel’s Frank carries the easy confidence of a headliner suddenly facing competition. Loosely based on Oakley’s life, the 1950 Technicolor musical builds its story around performance, courtship, and show-business ego, with Irving Berlin songs including “Doin’ What Comes Naturally,” “I Got Lost in His Arms,” and “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”
