The Evil Dead
Horror85 min
A weekend in an isolated cabin goes wrong when five college students discover a Sumerian Book of the Dead and a tape recording that unleashes demonic possession. Bruce Campbell is Ash, one of the friends trapped inside as the group is picked apart by the forces they’ve awakened, while Ellen Sandweiss’s Cheryl is among the first to fall under their influence. Sam Raimi’s film keeps the action pinned to the woods and the cabin, using prowling camera moves, handmade effects, and bursts of stop-motion to turn a simple getaway into escalating supernatural carnage.
