Danila Bagrov, a young ex-conscript, comes to St. Petersburg hoping his older brother can help him start over. Sergey Bodrov's Danila instead finds that Victor (Viktor Sukhorukov) is a contract killer in hiding after a job tied to a Chechen mob boss goes wrong. To protect himself, Victor pulls Danila into the city’s criminal world and steers him toward a hit that was never supposed to be his. As Danila moves through apartments, street markets, and gangland deals, the film follows a quiet, watchful newcomer whose sense of loyalty keeps dragging him deeper in.
