The Long Absence
DramaMystery85 min
Sixteen years after her husband vanished, café owner Thérèse becomes convinced that a ragged drifter in town is the man she lost. Alida Valli is Thérèse, holding to fragments of a life interrupted, while Georges Wilson is the stranger whose amnesia leaves her with only gestures, habits, and half-recognized memories to work with. As she tries to draw him back toward their past, the film stays close to small routines, uncertainty, and the fragile line between recognition and wishful thinking.
