Behind the Candelabra
DramaRomance118 min
Backstage in 1977, young Scott Thorson meets Liberace and is drawn into the entertainer’s hidden private life. Michael Douglas is the famous pianist and showman, surrounded by rhinestones, television fame, and carefully managed glamour; Matt Damon's Scott enters that orbit as a companion and lover as the relationship grows more volatile. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the film follows the gap between Liberace’s public extravagance and the rooms behind it, moving from Las Vegas spectacle to a more private world shaped by control, secrecy, and image.
