A Single Man

DramaRomanceThriller101 min

George Falconer is a British college professor spending a single day in 1962 Los Angeles, unable to see past the recent death of his longtime partner, Jim. Colin Firth is George, moving through lectures, memories, and carefully maintained routines as the Cuban missile crisis hangs in the background. Julianne Moore enters his orbit as a longtime friend, and Nicholas Hoult's student is among the people who catch glimpses of the strain beneath George's polished surface. As the day unfolds, ordinary encounters keep pressing against his isolation and his sense that the future has narrowed to nothing.
