Two Weeks in Another Town
Drama107 min
Fresh out of an asylum after three years, Kirk Douglas is Jack Andrus, a faded screen idol who heads to Rome for a minor role in a film directed by an old mentor and sees it as a last chance to rebuild his life. Edward G. Robinson’s director is on shaky ground himself, and the shoot pulls Jack back into a world of strained loyalties, professional ruin, and movie-business vanity. Cyd Charisse and Claire Trevor are part of the orbit around him as the story moves through Rome’s studio scene and the uneasy bond between stars who know how quickly a career can slip.
