After unloading phony stock and attracting the law, two con men bolt for Mexico, where their escape gets complicated by a woman they knew years earlier who has since become a bullfighter. Bud Abbott and Lou Costello are the swindlers at the center of the scramble, with Virginia Grey turning up as the figure from their past who changes the shape of the getaway. The setup keeps one foot in romance and one in farce, as the pair try to stay ahead of trouble while old connections, new schemes, and the spectacle around the bullring close in.
