A group of struggling Broadway hopefuls think they’ve found a way to keep their show afloat, then a tin of sardines turns out to be hiding the Romanoff diamonds and brings gangsters into the wings. Harpo Marx is at the center of the mix-up, with Chico Marx joining the scramble as the brothers steer the production through crooks, chase scenes, and backstage chaos. Ilona Massey and Vera-Ellen round out the ensemble as the plot bounces between rehearsal-room comedy, stolen jewels, and musical interludes.
