A married man tries to keep a foolish act of heroism from turning into a disaster at home. After rescuing a woman from drowning, he and his friend are pulled into her schemes, and what should be a simple good deed becomes a tangle of lies, visits, and near discoveries. The trouble is not the rescue itself but the cover story that follows, as he scrambles to hide the woman’s presence from his wife and keep each new excuse from collapsing into the next. Laurel and Hardy spend the short piling up misunderstandings, physical mishaps, and bad timing as a small secret spins into household chaos.
