With Stan Laurel beside him, every attempt to contain the mess only widens it, especially once a formal dinner party puts Ollie’s home, guests, and political image under pressure at the same time. Mae Busch brings the threat to the doorstep, while Hardy’s blustering confidence and Laurel’s anxious helpfulness keep turning a private scandal into public chaos. Hidden evidence, panicked improvising, and one increasingly fraught evening drive the comedy.
