Laura Mars is a famous New York fashion photographer whose stylized images of sex and violence take on a new meaning when she begins witnessing murders through the killer’s eyes. Faye Dunaway is Laura, a public figure whose work suddenly seems entangled with the crimes, while Detective John Neville (Tommy Lee Jones) is drawn into the case as bodies turn up around her models and acquaintances. Moving between Manhattan fashion shoots, police scrutiny, and psychic visions, the film pulls noir, supernatural horror, and late-1970s glamour into the same frame.
