Witchhammer

DramaHorrorThriller107 min

In 1670s Northern Moravia, church tribunals turn witchcraft accusations into a system of torture, dragging ordinary women before court and forcing confessions to crimes that never happened. Elo Romančík is priest Kryštof Lautner, who speaks against the trials and finds himself pulled into the same machinery of persecution. With Vladimír Šmeral among the officials and clergy tightening their grip, the story traces how fear spreads through a community and how religious authority becomes a tool for punishment.
