Paris is under siege by the Vampires, a secret criminal organization the police can't seem to touch. Édouard Mathé is journalist Philippe Guérande, who sets out with a partner, joined by Marcel Lévesque, to uncover the gang behind the city's spreading chaos and deaths. Musidora's Irma Vep stands near the center of the conspiracy as the Great Vampire's dangerous accomplice. Made in France in the silent era, the film follows Guérande's investigation as each lead opens onto another layer of the network, turning a reporter's pursuit into a prolonged clash with an enemy that keeps slipping out of sight.
