Mary is a devout student at an evangelical high school whose orderly life comes apart when she learns her boyfriend may be gay and soon discovers she’s pregnant. Jena Malone keeps Mary open-faced and bewildered as classmates turn judgmental, while Mandy Moore’s Hilary Faye rules the halls with a smile, a slogan, and a mean streak. Around them, the school’s faith-based rules and social hierarchy become the target of sharp teen satire.
