Chasing Amy
ComedyDramaRomance114 min
A comic-book artist falls hard for a woman he meets on the convention circuit, and the connection quickly turns into something serious. The complication is plain from the start: she identifies as a lesbian, and his feelings force both of them into territory neither can handle cleanly. As they try to make a relationship work, his insecurity and inexperience keep turning private doubts into public strain. The tension gets worse when his outspoken best friend, played by Jason Lee, resents the match and keeps pressing at its weak spots. Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams anchor a romance that keeps colliding with jealousy, pride, and the messiness of trying to rewrite who you thought you were.
