Geoffrey Rush is David Helfgott, a gifted Australian pianist whose childhood promise is shaped by relentless practice, competition, and a father determined to direct every step. In the younger years, Noah Taylor carries David into the period when teachers and concert halls open up a life beyond home, even as that pressure pushes him toward collapse. The film follows Helfgott from his early rise through a breakdown and, later, a return to the piano, with family conflict, public performance, and the cost of being treated as a prodigy woven through his story.
