The Great Outdoors

Comedy91 min

John Candy is Chet Ripley, an outdoorsy Chicago dad looking forward to a quiet vacation with his wife Connie and their kids at a lakeside cabin in Wisconsin. The plan falls apart when Connie’s brother arrives uninvited with his own family: Dan Aykroyd’s Roman Craig, a smug wheeler-dealer who turns every meal, fishing trip, and campfire into a contest. What starts as a summer getaway becomes a running family feud between the easygoing Ripleys and the more tightly wound Craigs, with the lake, the woods, and the cabin all serving as battlegrounds.
