Black Cat

DramaFantasyHorror100 min

During Japan’s Sengoku civil wars, a woman and her daughter-in-law are attacked and killed by passing soldiers; soon afterward, samurai crossing the same grove begin turning up dead, their throats torn out. Nobuko Otowa and Kiwako Taichi are the two women at the center of the haunting, while Kichiemon Nakamura is the young warrior ordered by a governor to hunt down whatever spirit is preying on men returning from battle. Black Cat ties its ghost story to the violence of medieval war, moving between the world of samurai duty and a supernatural revenge that settles over the countryside.
