After losing both a role and his girlfriend, actor Jake Scully gets an odd break: a chance to house-sit in the Hollywood Hills, where a telescope gives him a clear view into a neighbor’s bedroom. Craig Wasson is Jake, whose nightly surveillance turns into a murder witnessed from a distance and an obsessive search for answers. That search drags him into Los Angeles’ adult film scene, where Melanie Griffith’s Holly Body becomes a key ally. Directed by Brian De Palma, Body Double folds voyeurism, mistaken perception, and Hitchcock-inspired suspense into a lurid vision of 1980s Hollywood.
