Blood Simple

CrimeDramaThriller99 min

In small-town Texas, a seedy bar owner discovers that his wife is having an affair with one of his employees and hires a private investigator to arrange their murder. Dan Hedaya’s jealous husband sets off a chain of double-crosses, bad assumptions, and panicked cover-ups, while Frances McDormand is the wife caught in the middle as the situation keeps slipping further out of control. Joel and Ethan Coen’s debut turns neon bars, empty roads, and cheap rooms into a hard-edged noir world where every character is working with the wrong information.
