Jean-Claude Van Damme is Lyon Gaultier, a deserter from the French Foreign Legion who arrives in the United States with no money and finds his brother near death. With his sister-in-law struggling to cover medical bills and care for her child, Lyon enters a clandestine underground fighting circuit, using bare-knuckle matches and street bouts to bring in cash. Harrison Page and Deborah Rennard are part of the world around him as the story moves between family crisis and the back-room economy built on fists, wagers, and quick payouts.
