Barefoot in the Park
ComedyRomance106 min
Fresh from their honeymoon, Corie and Paul Bratter move into a cramped sixth-floor walk-up in Greenwich Village, where married life quickly exposes how little a free spirit and a buttoned-up lawyer agree on. Jane Fonda is Corie, all impulse and enthusiasm; Robert Redford’s Paul meets every surprise with caution and irritation. When Corie tries to pair her lonely mother, Ethel, with their eccentric neighbor Victor, a disastrous double date turns domestic friction into open conflict, with the tiny New York apartment becoming part of the comedy.
