Jim Grant is a lawyer and single father until his cover is blown: Robert Redford is a former Weather Underground activist whose identity is uncovered by an ambitious young reporter. As Shia LaBeouf's Ben Shepard keeps digging, Grant goes on the run from the FBI and back toward the network of allies, aliases, and unfinished history he left behind in the 1970s. Directed by Redford, the film ties present-day manhunt tension to the aftershocks of the antiwar movement, with Julie Christie, Susan Sarandon, Nick Nolte, and Chris Cooper turning up as figures connected to Grant’s past.
