The Falling Star
ComedyCrimeDramaFamilyFantasyMysteryThriller98 min
Boris is a former activist living quietly as a barkeeper until an armed stranger walks into the bar looking for revenge. The sudden appearance of Dom, a depressed loner who looks exactly like him, gives Boris’s partner Kayoko and their friend Tim the outline of a decoy scheme. That plan gets messier as Boris’s ex-wife Fiona resurfaces and a detective starts following the trail. Fiona Gordon and Dominique Abel lead the film, with Kaori Ito in the circle around Boris, as the story turns on doubles, evasions, and slapstick near-misses.
