Facing eviction in present-day Paris, 38-year-old single mother Inès takes a trial job with Anti-Squat, a start-up that places people in empty suburban office buildings on a temporary basis. Louise Bourgoin is Inès, who has to live on-site as a building manager, keep watch over the residents, and enforce rules that leave tenants with no rights. The position could give her and her teenage son Adam a path to stable housing, but children are forbidden in the building, turning her new routine into a constant negotiation between work, surveillance, and the home she is trying to secure.
