On a French army air base in early-1970s Madagascar, eight-year-old Thomas watches soldiers and their families live out the last carefree years of colonialism. Influenced by his Fantômette books, he begins to shape his own way of seeing the world around him, from family life to the rituals of the base. Charlie Vauselle anchors the story from the child’s point of view, while Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Quim Gutiérrez appear among the adults in Thomas’s orbit.
