Mistress
ComedyDrama110 min
A screenwriter gets an unexpected second chance when an old script lands in the hands of a producer, but finding money to make the movie soon means surrendering control of it. Robert Wuhl is the writer at the center of the scramble, with Martin Landau's producer trying to piece together financing. Danny Aiello, Robert De Niro, and Eli Wallach are among the would-be backers, and each one wants his own mistress written into the film. What starts as a long-shot Hollywood comeback turns into a steady series of compromises and rewrites.
