Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart
ComedyDrama88 min
As Chinese New Year approaches in San Francisco’s Richmond District, a 62-year-old widow begins putting her affairs in order after a fortune teller tells her this will be the year she dies. She wants to return to China to pay respects to her ancestors, while her unmarried daughter Geraldine is torn between a boyfriend in Los Angeles and the thought of leaving her mother on her own. Uncle Tam keeps trying to nudge the family toward a solution, adding another voice to an already crowded household. Laureen Chew and Kim Chew lead a story built around family obligation, small domestic negotiations, and the rhythms of a Chinese American neighborhood.
