The Princess Bride

ActionAdventureComedyFamilyFantasyRomance99 min

Laid up sick, a young boy listens as his grandfather (Peter Falk) reads him a story about Princess Buttercup and the farmhand she loves. Robin Wright's Buttercup is promised to a scheming prince, while Cary Elwes is Westley, the missing swashbuckler who fights his way back through kidnappers, a six-fingered swordsman, a giant, and the hazards of a storybook kingdom. Rob Reiner's film folds romance, swordplay, deadpan comedy, and the running interruption of its bedside frame into a fairy tale where revenge, miracles, and rodents of unusual size all have a place.
