Edward Scissorhands

DramaFantasyRomance105 min

An unfinished young man with scissors for hands is discovered in a lonely castle and brought into a pastel suburban neighborhood, where curiosity about him soon collides with fear. Johnny Depp is Edward, left alone when the inventor who made him dies; Peg (Dianne Wiest), a local saleswoman, brings him home to her family, and Winona Ryder's Kim becomes the center of his new life. Directed by Tim Burton, the film places gothic romance inside manicured cul-de-sacs, with Edward trimming hedges and hair while struggling to live among people who treat him as both novelty and threat.
