After moving to the seaside town of Santa Carla with their mother, brothers Michael and Sam discover that the boardwalk’s nightlife comes with a vampire problem. Jason Patric is Michael, the older brother drawn toward a dangerous local crowd and Star (Jami Gertz), while Corey Haim’s Sam leans on the comic-book-obsessed Frog brothers to make sense of what’s happening. Dianne Wiest is the boys’ mother, trying to build a new life in a town where disappearances and rumors never seem to stop. Joel Schumacher’s 1987 film folds teen romance, sibling friction, and small-town horror into a sun-bleached California setting.
