A Christmas gift turns dangerous when Billy Peltzer brings home a small, unusual pet called Gizmo with three strict rules for keeping it. Once those rules are broken, Gizmo spawns more creatures, and the new arrivals are nothing like him. What starts as a household problem spreads through Billy’s snowy hometown on Christmas Eve as the little monsters multiply, sabotage machines, and turn ordinary places into chaos. Billy, played by Zach Galligan, scrambles to contain the outbreak while the town learns too late that these creatures are mischievous, destructive, and hard to stop. Joe Dante pushes the story from playful curiosity into all-out mayhem.
