As mutants face extinction in a ruined future, Logan is sent back to 1973 to stop the moment that set the war in motion. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has to reach a younger Charles Xavier, with James McAvoy as a brilliant but broken version of the future leader, and somehow pull him back into the fight alongside Magneto. Moving between a bleak near-future battlefield and the unrest of the Nixon era, the story ties the original X-Men team to the First Class generation as one decision threatens both mutant and human survival.
