After a daylight payroll heist in Milan, fugitive Abel Davos heads back to Paris with his children, trying to turn stolen cash into a way out. Lino Ventura is Abel, a veteran gangster returning to France after years in hiding and facing old contacts who may not still be on his side. Jean-Paul Belmondo’s Eric Stark, a younger criminal assigned to help him, becomes his closest ally as Abel moves through the postwar Paris underworld, looking for safe passage, money, and a path forward for his family.
