The Young Girls of Rochefort

ComedyDramaMusicalRomance126 min

In the seaside town of Rochefort, twin sisters Delphine and Solange spend a fair-filled weekend dreaming of love, art, and a life beyond home as ideal partners keep passing just out of reach. Catherine Deneuve and her real-life sister Françoise Dorléac are the twins, one a dance teacher, the other a music instructor, moving through a swirl of sailors, musicians, and chance visitors. George Chakiris and Gene Kelly are among the men crossing their orbit in Jacques Demy’s musical, where romance, missed connections, and everyday life unfold in step with songs and dance.
