Day for Night
ComedyDramaRomance116 min
A filmmaker tries to finish his latest picture while the cast and crew bring one crisis after another to the set, from romantic entanglements to professional blowups. François Truffaut is the harried director at the center of the production, juggling delays, accidents, and the unstable lives of the people around him. Jacqueline Bisset is a British ingénue shadowed by personal scandal, while Valentina Cortese's aging Italian diva adds another layer of unpredictability. As shooting continues, the line between the movie being made and the off-camera dramas around it keeps narrowing.
