When a man is killed at Maine’s remote Black Lake, the local game warden joins a New York paleontologist to investigate what could have done it. Bill Pullman is the warden trying to keep the search under control, while Bridget Fonda’s reluctant scientist follows a trail of teeth, missing animals, and mounting evidence that a giant crocodile is in the water. Their hunt gets messier with the arrival of an eccentric crocodile enthusiast and a growing string of attacks around the lake. Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Platt round out the uneasy search party as the quiet wilderness turns into a predator’s hunting ground.
