Come and See

DramaHorrorThrillerWar142 min

In Nazi-occupied Belarus, teenager Florya runs from home to join the local Resistance, imagining heroism and finding raids, hunger, and the destruction of civilian life instead. Aleksey Kravchenko is Florya, and the film tracks the war through his increasingly shaken point of view; beside him, Glasha (Olga Mironova) becomes a companion as villages are emptied and survivors scatter into the forest. Staying close to the boy’s experience, the film uses distorted sound, direct-to-camera faces, and surreal imagery to turn fields, marshes, and деревни into a landscape where violence feels constant and disorienting.
