After an unfair county eviction leaves her shut out of her Northern California bungalow, Kathy is pulled into a standoff with the new owner, an Iranian immigrant trying to rebuild his family’s future. Jennifer Connelly’s Kathy is isolated and unraveling; Ben Kingsley is Behrani, who has bought the house hoping to renovate it and pay for his son’s education. As Kathy turns to a lawyer and grows close to a police officer, the fight over one small home tightens into a moral and personal collision, with Ron Eldard and Shohreh Aghdashloo in the center of the fallout.
