There Will Be Blood

DramaFamilyMystery158 min

At the turn of the 20th century, prospector Daniel Plainview heads to oil-rich California with his young son H.W., using the boy to project trustworthiness while he talks local landowners into selling cheap. Daniel Day-Lewis is Plainview, a silver miner remade as an oilman, while Paul Dano's Eli Sunday runs the small-town church and sees through him almost immediately. In Paul Thomas Anderson's film, their struggle for influence turns Little Boston into a battleground between profit, faith, and the image of family.
