Crash

CrimeDramaThriller112 min

Over 36 hours in post-Sept. 11 Los Angeles, a carjacking, a traffic stop and a string of chance encounters pull strangers into one another’s lives. Sandra Bullock is the wife of a district attorney (Brendan Fraser), while Don Cheadle’s detective Graham and his partner Ria (Jennifer Esposito) move through the same chain reaction from a police investigation. Elsewhere, Matt Dillon’s veteran officer stops an affluent couple, played by Terrence Howard and Thandiwe Newton, and a shopkeeper, locksmith and young carjackers get swept into the city’s mounting friction. The story tracks how race, class and fear collide in everyday moments and sudden crises.
