After his niece is abducted, forensic psychologist and detective Alex Cross heads to North Carolina to track a serial kidnapper known as Casanova. Morgan Freeman is Cross, pulled into the case as it widens beyond a single disappearance. His key ally is Dr. Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd), the only woman known to have escaped the killer's captivity. Working from her account and a growing pattern of missing women, Cross follows the investigation from North Carolina to Los Angeles, where the hunt points toward a predator whose crimes may involve more than one person.
