Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
ActionAdventureAnimationAnimeFantasySci-Fi117 min
After a global war, the Valley of the Wind survives on the edge of a poisonous jungle where giant insects guard a damaged Earth. Sumi Shimamoto is Nausicaä, the valley’s pacifist princess, who tries to understand the toxic wilderness instead of simply fighting it. When a military empire moves in and an ancient weapon enters the conflict, the fragile peace between people and the environment begins to collapse. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film pairs sweeping aerial fantasy with a post-apocalyptic world of spores, ruins, and towering creatures.
