Princess Mononoke
ActionAdventureAnimationAnimeFantasy134 min
Ashitaka, a prince of Japan’s fading Emishi people, is cursed by a demonized boar god and rides west in search of a cure. In Hayao Miyazaki’s Muromachi-period fantasy, Yoji Matsuda is the young warrior caught between San (Yuriko Ishida), a human raised by wolves who fights for the forest, and Lady Eboshi (Yuko Tanaka), the leader of an ironworks settlement pushing deeper into the gods’ domain. As animal spirits, human industry, and old beliefs collide, Ashitaka tries to understand both sides of a conflict that threatens the land itself.
