Born amid the stench of 18th-century Paris, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille grows into a man with an extraordinary sense of smell and a rare talent for perfume. Ben Whishaw is Grenouille, moving from market filth to perfumers’ workshops as his hunt for the ultimate fragrance turns into fixation. He can identify and recreate scents no one else can detect, but his methods grow increasingly disturbing when he becomes determined to preserve the aroma of young women. As bodies begin to surface and fear spreads through the city, Grenouille keeps chasing the one scent he believes could become a perfect perfume.
