The Great Beauty
Drama142 min
After his 65th birthday brings an unwelcome jolt from the past, Jep Gambardella begins taking stock of the glittering life he has spent in Rome’s elite social circles. Toni Servillo is Jep, a celebrated journalist and one-time novelist who moves easily through rooftop parties, nightclubs, cafés, and church-adjacent high society, armed with charm and a cutting eye. As he looks past the rituals of wealth, art, and status, the city around him comes into sharper focus. Carlo Verdone and Sabrina Ferilli are part of the orbit Jep crosses as memory, spectacle, and disillusionment start to crowd the party.
