Pan's Labyrinth

DramaFantasyWar118 min

In post–civil war Spain, 10-year-old Ofelia arrives with her pregnant mother at a rural military outpost ruled by her new stepfather, Captain Vidal. Ivana Baquero is Ofelia, a solitary child who discovers an ancient labyrinth in the woods, where a faun (Doug Jones) tells her she may be a lost princess from an underground kingdom. While Vidal, embodied with chilling control by Sergi López, hunts resistance fighters in the surrounding countryside, Ofelia is drawn into a series of dangerous tasks that pull fairy-tale creatures and old myths into the violence of Franco’s Spain.
